A massive Auction of native and ornamental poultry, waterfowl, ducks, game and caged birds takes place every Wednesday together with other fur and feathered creatures. The caged bird section is the largest in the North of England and the Poultry Sale is hugely popular. 30 – 50 stalls attend the general market from 2:00pm onwards and by 8:00pm up to 2000 people will have visited the site each week, every week.
